The Secret to Writing a Plan and Making It Clear

Have you ever had to wait on God for an answer? I am sure that you have.  We all have!  It can be particularly difficult to wait when you are waiting on an answer pertaining to something you feel God told you to do.  Did God instruct you to start a business or join a new church?  Perhaps, He told you to visit a new city or create a product.  You may have considered it or even taken step one, but are anxiously awaiting what is next.

Habakkuk sat and waited for God's response.  As The Lord is faithful to do, He showed up and answered.  Then the Lord answered me, “Write the vision. Make it clear on tablets so that anyone can read it quickly.  Habakkuk 2:2(GW)  I believe that God is urging you and I, in the same way, He did the Prophet Habakkuk.  He is waiting for us to take some action.

You are probably thinking that you do not have enough details to take action.  I get that.  However, it does not hurt to start jotting down the plan.  If you feel called to Pastor, then you probably would not go out tomorrow and begin building your church, but writing out the vision sure would be helpful.  You know, there is a secret to writing a plan and making it clear:

The secret to writing a plan and making it clear is to write down as much as you can as quickly and as often as you can, BUT leave A LOT of room for God to make edits and modifications.

-:- Write Down as Much as You Can (Quickly)
Set aside some time to pray and ask God to tell you about this dream/vision He has for your life.  If you have been carrying a dream in your heart for years, during this time of prayer, ask God to speak to you about that dream.  During this prayer time, just begin to write!  Quickly write down everything that comes to you pertaining to the dream and/or vision.  You have to do it quickly because you will overthink it otherwise.  Just write, write, write.  Be as specific and clear as possible.  God instructs us to make it clear.  Don't be fearful or concerned about writing the wrong thing(s).  God will certainly take care of that part.  Besides, we cast out that fear in the Name of Jesus because you have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16); You think His thoughts when you allow yourself to.

-:- Write Down as Much as You Can (Often)
Once you have gotten down as much as you can, revisit it often.  In the days, weeks, months to come you may receive more revelation that needs to be included.  Do not be afraid to add to your clear plan.

-:- Leave A Lot of Room for God to Edit
Once you have gotten your clear plan on paper, leave a lot of room for God to edit, revise, and make modifications.  God is not asking you or I to create our own vision; He already has that under control (Jeremiah 29:11).  He is simply wanting our participation in the process.  When we are open to His edits and revisions we will see the vision take shape.  Once God has made the necessary refinements, He will begin to put your plan into sequential order.  You will just know what the next practical step will be.  Trust Him as He helps you to put the plan into action.

You do not have to do this alone.  God is with you every step of the way.  I have a challenge for you this week:  Pray, and begin writing the plan for the dream and/or vision that God has placed in your heart. I'd love to hear about it if you are willing to share!  Let Him heal your soul!

Share this post today with someone who is ready to take action!

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, I'm grateful that you have a good and perfect plan for my life.  Teach me to participate with you and write out the plan clearly.  When the time is right, help me to take the appropriate actions. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
