4 Ways to Successfully Complete Your Work (Even When You Don't Feel Like It...)
Have you ever been completely displeased with your job? Been there, done that. Maybe you liked it at first, but later became burned out with it. Then, there are those of you who probably never really wanted to work that particular job in the first place; you probably just needed the income to survive. In most cases, we end up spending more time at work than anywhere else, so it can be really miserable to feel stuck. When dread and agony set in it is easy to just half'-way complete our work. Is that the best way to handle the situation?
It may seem hard to believe, but you can successfully complete your work even when you don't feel like it. Colossians 3:23 (NLV) reads whatever work you do, do it with all your heart. Do it for the Lord and not for men. Although you may feel reluctant to put forth a lot of effort into work you dislike, a job you are preparing to leave, or a company that does not appreciate you, the Bible urges you and I to do it with all of our hearts. Here are 4 reasons to successfully complete your work:
1. Be a Strong Example- People are watching {even if you don't realize it} to see how you, as a Christian, respond to tough situations. Do the best work you can do so people see an example of perseverance.
2. Your Next Assignment- When you successfully complete your work you will have all the pieces you need to move onto your next assignment. It all works together (when you love the Lord) so focus on doing your job well so that you can confidently move into what God has for you next. If you only put forth a little effort, then you may be unprepared when your next opportunity shows up.
3. Remember it is for The Lord- Ultimately, the work you are doing is not for your boss, the company or even yourself. In the grand scheme of things, the work you are doing is for the Lord. When you think of it that way it is much easier to successfully complete the work you have been given to do.
4. Think of Your Eternal Rewards- As you work, from time to time, remind yourself that there will be rewards in Heaven just for you because Jesus is your Savior, you love Him, and you are doing your work as unto Him. I would like to think that there will be amazing rewards for those who endured many hardships, even when they did not feel like it, yet did it to the best of their ability.
A day is coming when God will move you out of that job, until that time, do the work with all of your heart. Let Him heal your soul!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I am having a hard time completing my work. I am tired of my job and can't take much more. Please give me your strength and peace to endure. Teach me to successfully complete my work, even if I don't feel like it, as if I'm doing it for you. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
