Over the next few weeks, we will take time together to uncover exactly who we are in Christ!  God does not want us to live defeated and unproductive lives.  He desires for us to know who we are and then live victoriously!

I am the head and I am above!

God has this amazing way of telling us who we are and at the same time telling us who we are not.  The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom (Deuteronomy 28:13 NIV).  He said that we are the head and that we are on top.  Never the tail or on the bottom.  The condition is that we must carefully follow the commands of the Lord.

Why does God constantly remind us of who we are?  Perhaps, it is because we quickly forget when we are consumed with the cares of this world.  God said that we are on top, but we allow people to make us feel beneath.  God said that we are above, but we consistently let circumstances drag us to the bottom.  Why is it that we forget who we are in hard times?

Today is the day that we rise up and remember our identity!  Knowing and declaring that you are the head and you are above is not a prideful declaration to make.  The fact of the matter is that we recognize that our identity is secure because we are in Jesus.  We can boldly proclaim that we are the head and we are above because we are hidden in Him.  Do not be ashamed and do not be fearful; know who you are and cling tightly to your identity in Christ!  Let Him heal your soul.

Your Sister in Christ,

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, We thank you that our identity is in Your Son, our precious Savior, Jesus.  Remind us daily of who we are.  Help us to walk in boldness knowing that we are the head and we are above.  In Jesus' Name we pray, Amen.
