How to Use Time in His Presence to Produce Personal Growth

 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. John 15:4 NLT

We all want to get better, right?  There are always areas in which we could improve.  How do we get better?  How do we constantly get better?  The answer is found in God's presence.  When we spend time with Him, He sees to it that we are undergoing positive improvements.

John 15:4 teaches us how to use time in His presence to really produce personal growth:

Remain in Him

Jesus tells us very plainly that the key to personal growth is remaining in Him.  He promises that He will remain in each of us as we remain in Him.  John 15:4 clearly states that we cannot produce if we are disconnected from Him.  Whether you are trying to produce personal growth, a business, or even wealth, you just will not be able to do so without remaining in Jesus.  You remain in Him by spending time, hearing His voice and seeking Him.  The more you remain, the more you will grow.

Let Him Prune

John 15:2 (NIV) says He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.  Cambridge Dictionaries defines prune as follows:

To cut off so that it will grow better in the future; to reduce something by removing things that are not necessary.

 If we are truly going to grow and develop personally, then we must yield to God's pruning.  Whenever we are reduced or something is cut off that can be very painful.  Who wants to go through that?  The reality is that those things are not necessary and they are keeping us from being our best.  The fact that there is growth after the pruning suggest that it was capable all along.  There were just some things in the way.  As we spend time with our Father, He will show us what is hindering our personal growth.

Produce Much Fruit

After you have gone through the process of remaining in Him and letting Him prune you, then you are ready to produce much fruit!  As you grow and He begins to produce much fruit in you that fruit will spill over into every area of your life!  You will find yourself producing much more fruit in your finances, family, career, business and beyond.  All because you took the time to remain in Him and allow Him to develop you.  Can't you just see yourself better already?!    Let Him heal your soul!
