Discover the Secret to a Successful New Year

Happy New Year! The new year is here...a total of 365 days of new possibilities.  Over the holidays, I did some traveling, and I was reminded just how grateful I am for GPS.  What in the world did we do before it?  Oh, that's right...we would print out directions from MapQuest, or use actual paper maps even before that.  Thank goodness for technology!  I love the way GPS is able to detect what is up ahead and reroute, or recalculate when a wrong turn has been made, but most of all, I love the way the 'voice' comes in from time to time to reassure you that your next step is just up ahead.  That got me to thinking...what if there was a GPS of sorts for our souls?  What if that 'GPS' could help us to have a successful new year?

John 16:13(NLT) reads When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.  If you truly desire to have a successful new year, then here is the secret: allow Holy Spirit to lead you into all truth every single day.  If you already have an intimate relationship with The Trinity (Father, Son, & Holy Spirit) then this secret is probably no secret to you at all.  However, if you desire to live this year in a new way, and you want it to be a guaranteed success, then simply allow Holy Spirit to lead you.  John 16:13 assures us that the Spirit of truth will guide us and relay what He has seen and heard in Heaven.  

You know, Holy Spirit is like our personal GPS, except He is way more accurate and complex.  He detects what is up ahead and reroutes, or recalculates when a wrong turn has been made.  His 'voice' will even come from time to time to reassure us that our next step is just up ahead.  Please understand that a successful year being led by the Holy Spirit is not a year where everything is perfect.  No, a successful year led by the Holy Spirit is one in which you are able to fully surrender, allow God to order your steps, and watch the pieces of your life come together in a miraculous way.  

There will be some disappointments and setbacks along the way, but there will also be many surprises and joyous occasions this year.  Will you allow the Holy Spirit to lead you through it all and right into a successful year?  I pray that you will.   Let Him heal your soul!

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, I thank you for allowing me to see a new year.  I am excited about all that you have for me in this new season. Holy Spirit, please lead me into all truth every moment of each day so that I am guaranteed a successful year.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.
