Master Key
Have you ever thought about all of the different keys you have? You probably have keys for your house, car, and job. Then, if you have multiple cars, different key locks on your house(s), and spare keys for friends' houses, you have even more keys to keep up with! Why in the world do we have so many keys and what purpose do they serve? A key's purpose is simply to secure and control entrance to a place.
Keys give us a means to access. How silly would it be if your house key opened your car or your car key opened your office door? Better yet, how useless would it be if your key opened my house door?Every key serves its own unique purpose. Our enemy, Satan, works skillfully at stealing the things that matter to us and locking them away. He may try to steal your health, sabotage your finances, hinder your ministry and lock them away so you do not have access. He may lock up your relationships, drain your emotions or destroy your self-image.
Satan watches us frantically try to gain access and he deceives us by leading us to believe that we have the 'keys' to unlock the doors. He tricks us into believing that our own power will release the 'locks' in our lives, then he is amused when it never works out for us. He whispers things like, "get another credit card; that is the 'key' you need to unlock your financial troubles". Sometimes he will say, "you don't need to wait for God's direction, the 'key' to starting that ministry is to just do it however you want to". What about when he says, "so, you're feeling lonely...the 'key' is to just jump into a relationship and do whatever you feel like doing". When we are deceived by these lies we will never gain access; it is like trying to open your front door with your car key.
In Matthew 16:19 (NIV) Jesus says I will give you the keys of the the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. I hear you...you are thinking great, another set of keys to keep up with! No, for now you just need one additional key and that key is prayer.
Think of prayer like a master key. Master keys are very handy and efficient. One key can provide access to multiple spaces. For example, in a large office building or school, individuals who need access to multiple places just use the same key...the master key. The master key works on several different locks because it has the ability to create a gap inside the lock which causes the key to be able to turn. Prayer, our master key, works much in that same way. Prayer, in Jesus' Name, is the key that unlocks every situation. As we pray in Jesus' Name, the Holy Spirit will lead us in how to pray about the situation. No matter what situations or circumstances is being held under lock and key, prayer is the 'key' to unlock them all. Whatever the enemy has locked up will have to be freed as you pray. The more and more time you spend in prayer, the more accurate and precise your prayers will become. Your prayers will get on the inside of those 'locks' and begin to turn your situations. Do not waste time trying a bunch of 'keys' that will never work. God has already given you a master key for all of your problems and it is called prayer...don't be afraid to use it! Let Him heal your soul!
