Christmas has finally arrived.  While most people are celebrating with loved ones, opening gifts, and preparing dinner, some people are clinging...Clinging to what you may wonder?  Some are tightly clinging to hope in Jesus, but others are clinging, for dear life, to their peace and happiness.  Could it be that a loved one received a scary diagnosis?  Is this the first Christmas without a cherished relative?  Are you feeling lonely?  You may be waiting with an aching heart, for God to answer your prayers.  If any of this sounds familiar, you may be desperately holding on today, but you are not alone.  Clinging to Christmas hope, in Jesus, is our only alternative.  Relief only comes when we share those feelings of desperation and frustration with Jesus.

The person who clings to the Savior will have supernatural strength and goodness.  Lamentations 3:25 (NIV) says The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;  This encouraging scripture reassures us that if we seek God, hope in Him, depend on Him, trust Him, and wait for Him, then He will be good to us.

There are rewarding results when we rely on our Redeemer.

Mary, Elizabeth, and Anna were able to receive the rewarding results because of their hope in God.  Mary's hope resulted in her still marrying Joseph, in lieu of all the divine details, and she gave birth to Jesus!  She decided to cling to God and she was chosen for a mighty purpose.  The baby placed inside of her would redeem the whole world.  The result of Elizabeth's hope was that God took away her shame, opened her womb, and gave her a son!  She did not just have a son; her baby boy would actually be the forerunner, preparing the way for Jesus.  She was given a vital role because of her trust in God.  As a result of Anna's hope, she was able to see baby Jesus at the Temple, even in her old age, and she recognized Him!  She lived to see the promise of God fulfilled and she told others about Him.

It may be hard right now, but cling to hope.  Cling to Jesus!  You may possibly be in a hopeless situation, but seek Jesus today.  If you can only muster up a tiny, bit of hope, cling to it with all you have left.  God has made a promise that He will be good to you.  He did it for Mary, Elizabeth, and Anna, why would He do anything less for you and I?  I pray you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  Let Him heal your soul!
